Biography:

Can Murtezaoğlu completed his undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture at Istanbul Technical University in 2018 and received his M.A. in Sound Engineering and Design from İTÜ MIAM in 2022, where he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. His academic focus lies in immersive audiovisual research, psychoacoustic perception, and spatial sound design. He assists in teaching core Music Technology courses such as Audio for Video, Recording Techniques, and Computer. Since 2021, he has served as the Technical Coordinator for BİSED (Bilimsel ve Sanatsal Etkinlikleri Düzenleme Kurulu), overseeing technical operations and tonmeistering more than sixty events annually.
He is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and serves on its Technical Committee for Spatial Audio (TCSA), which advances research, develops standards, and proposes innovations in multichannel audio formats. His recent academic work includes research publications, conference presentations, panel leadership, and workshops at various AES Europe Conventions and the AES International Conference on Spatial and Immersive Audio. He served the role of researcher on a İTÜ BAP project on immersive audio. He has worked on numerous spatial audio productions as a producer and mixing engineer and has produced major audiovisual projects and live broadcasts in the forms of documentaries, archival videography, conference videos and concert recordings within TMDK, MIAM, and ARTER.
His academic and creative practice seeks to further integrate immersive audio research with audiovisual production within İTÜ’s interdisciplinary environment.
