Application and Information

The ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory has participated in the Erasmus Programme, one of the European Union's education programmes, since 2005. The Erasmus Programme promotes multidimensional cooperation among higher education institutions across Europe by encouraging academic collaboration and international mobility.

The programme provides non-repayable financial support to enable higher education institutions to develop and implement joint projects, as well as to facilitate short-term mobility opportunities for students and academic staff. It is named after Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam (1469–1536), one of the leading scholars of Renaissance Humanism, who studied and taught in several European countries.

The Erasmus Programme is open to higher education institutions in the 27 Member States of the European Union, as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway, which are members of the European Economic Area, and in candidate countries participating in the programme.

Universities, institutes, academies, and other higher education institutions officially recognized by the competent authorities in their respective countries may participate in the Erasmus Programme after obtaining the Erasmus University Charter (EUC) from the European Commission. Institutions holding this charter, together with their students and academic staff, are eligible to benefit from the activities offered under the Erasmus and Lifelong Learning Programmes.
