Samet Tunç was born in the Şebinkarahisar district of Giresun. He completed his high school education at Giresun Fine Arts High School in 2016. He then graduated with honors from the Department of Music Education at Giresun University in 2020. Driven by his passion for both performance and research, he enrolled in the Vocal Training Master’s Program at Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts in 2020 and received his degree in 2023 with a thesis titled "Stylistic and Expressive Features in the Vocal Performance of Zaralı Halil Söyler." He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in the Music PhD Program at Bahçeşehir University.
From a young age, he has been interested in folk music and had the opportunity to work with esteemed figures in the field, also giving solo concerts focused on vocal performance. Additionally, he has conducted and continues to conduct research in areas such as the musical culture of the Giresun-Şebinkarahisar region, vocal performance analysis, ethnomusicology, and the sociology of music.
He is currently engaged in both scholarly and artistic activities and continues his work as a Research Assistant in the Department of Vocal Training at Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory (İTÜ TMDK).
