Biography:

Graduated with a high school diploma from Istanbul University State Conservatory’s Violin performance program in 1996, she received her BA in Prehistory at the same university’s Archaeology and Art History Department in 2002. In 2006, she completed her MA in Ethnomusicology at Istanbul Technical University, Advanced Studies In Music Department (ITU MİAM). Between 2010-1014, she attended the Ohio State University’s (OSU) School of Music, Ethnomusicology PhD program, she had also worked as a teaching associate at the same university.
She presented her first paper in 2005 at the University of Cambridge, School of Music; she gave her last scientific presentation, titled as “The Role of Sound in Hittite Festivals” at the Sounds of Prehistory and Antiquity conference in 2017, at the Research Center for Music Iconography of the City University of New York (CUNY). She received her PhD degree at ITU MİAM in January 2024.
She taught European art music history, organology, world music, popular music, and ethnomusicology classes both in Turkish and in English at ITU TMDK; she taught Baroque music history, world music, and rock music history classes as a teaching associate at the OSU.
