Biography:

In the field of music and dance, there are publications in the framework of migration, identity, space, affect and politics, and fieldwork studies especially in the Balkans and Thrace region. In addition to the articles and papers she proposes for the concepts of inter-homeland migration, social and artistic stages, she also wrote “Sociology of Music: Max Weber's Place in Sociology of Music and his Perspective on Eastern Music” in the book named Sociology of Art (Dönence Publications, 2009). She took part in Aşrı Memleket: Trakya’nın Renkli Dünyası with her chapter called “The Legacy of Dionysus: Trakya Musics” (İletişim Yayınları, 2017). She wrote "Ethnocentricity" and "Socioeconomic Class" in Music in the Social and Behavioral Sciences: An Encyclopedia (Sage Publications, 2014), and “Halay” in Encyclopaedia of Islam (Brill, 3rd Edition, 2018). In addition to her various assignments in the ITU BAP supported projects, she worked as the project coordinator in the EU Grundtvig program and the project consultant in the EU Cross-Border Cooperation program. Since 2016, she has been playing various percussion instruments in the Ritim Kolektif ensemble. Since 2010, she has been a member of the editorial board of Porte Akademik Journal and since 2008 she is an active member of ICTM Study Group on Music and Dance in Southeastern Europe.
