Biography:

He was born in 20.08.1955 at Ordu, Turkey. He completed his elementary and high school education in there.

He had come to Istanbul in 1973; Then, he received his first musical education in the Music Conservatory. In his conservatory years, he developed music knowledge by using Prof. Nevzat Atlığ, Süheyla Altmışdört, İsmail Hakkı Özkan and other teachers.

In 1975, he was accepted to conservatory education in ITU State Conservatory of Turkish Music.

He graduated in 1979. During his student years in the conservatory, he also studied under the tutor,who are Necdet Varol, Haydar Sanal, Nida Tüfekçi, Neriman Tüfekçi, Bekir Sıtkı Sezgin, Tülin Korman, Demirhan Altuğ,Cüneyt Orhon, Prof.Alaattin Yavaşça and Prof.Ercüment Berker, at the conservatory.

In 1980, he started to work as a research assistant.

In 1988 he became Assistant Professor in solfege and music theory branch.

In 2003, he became the founder of the department of Turkish Music Music Theory. During this period, he gave lectures about; Turkish Music Solfeology Theory, Advanced Solfege, Makam; which is a system of melody types in Arabic, Persian And   Turkish Classical Music, Theory, Turkish Compositions Analysis, The Classical Turkish Music Style And Repertoire, Repertoire Information, Dictation And  Sight  Singing  Of  Melodies, Analysis Of The Analytical Structure Of Turkish Music in The Master Program (Some of these courses are still continue).

He participated in numerous symposiums and presented papers. Some of these papers are;

  • National Music in the Artistic Framework in Early Childhood Process (International Early Childhood Education Congress)
  • Conference on Sufistic-Mystical music and philosophy within the framework of Education Activities at 16th Kemnade International Music Festival in Bochum, Germany in June 2001. (Published in Festival Magazine)
  • 1997 An Overview of Turkish Music from the Beginning to the Republic Period (1997 Balıkesir Turkish Music Symposium)
  • Musical Development in Ataturk's expectations from Turkish Music (2002 May Evaluation Symposium on Advances in our musical Month)

He organized conferences and seminars. He worked for many years with Professors like Fikret Değerli, Niyazi Sayın, Mefaret Yıldırım, Nurten Erpek, Göksel Baykut, Selahattin İçli,Hurşit Ungay,Kani Karaca, Cahit Atasoy, İhsan Özgen, Erol Sayan and Nevzat Atlığ.

From 1994 to 2017, he gave concerts in Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Poland, Greece, Bulgaria, Portugal and Pakistan. In the same period, he participated as a soloist in various domestic TV shows. His many compositions were broadcasted on TRT. His latest Project is, "Sultan’s of the Songs" music album; as a music director and soloist.

He   prepared many concerts and directed as a chef in Cemal Reşit Rey, Atatürk Culture Center and Mustafa Kemal Amphitheater. He worked as a teacher in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral exams.

He became head of the Department of Basic Sciences and Audio Education in various years. In addition; he assumed the position of Head of Main Art Branch in the same years. Also, He was a board member of the Turkish Music State Conservatory in various years.

Until 2017, he worked as a consultant for the final project and master's thesis.

In 2017, he published a book called “Entrance of High Solfeje Introduction in Turkish Music”.

He still continues to serve as a lecturer at Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music Conservatory.
